#166 LTLT S5 EP 40: Genesis 2:19-25: The Divine Design for Human Companionship
What if you discovered that our deepest need for companionship was written into our existence from the very beginning? Today, I, Catherine, take you on an enlightening journey through the book of Genesis, examining the pivotal moment when God declared it wasn't good for Adam to be alone. Through a close reading of verses 19-25, we reflect on the profound significance of human connection and the divine design behind creating a suitable helper for Adam. Join me as we uncover the deep spiritual truths embedded in the early chapters of Genesis, where naming animals wasn't enough to fill Adam's sense of solitude.
Together, let's explore how God crafted Eve from Adam's rib, emphasizing the importance of finding a partner who complements and completes us on a spiritual and emotional level. We discuss the essential nature of community and relationships as God intended, highlighting why pets alone couldn't fulfill Adam's inherent need for human companionship. Whether you're seeking to understand the biblical foundations of relationships or looking for inspiration in building meaningful connections, this episode of Learning to Live in Truth offers invaluable insights. Grab your Bible and join me, Catherine, as we continue to uncover the divine blueprint for human relationships.

Hello, hello, and welcome back to Learning to Live in Truth. I am so glad to be before you one more time. Amen. I hope all is well. I hope today has been a good day for you whenever you are listening to this. Amen. My name is Catherine, amen. So glad, always so glad to be here, and I am so glad that you tuned in for today's Learning to Live in Truth, right here on God's Diamonds in the Rough. Yeah, amen, hallelujah. So I hope you've had a good day. I hope that you are ready to get into the word, whether you're driving or sitting or wherever you are listening to this.
Speaker 1:I am ready to get your bibles and ready to get into where we are in the book of genesis. Amen, and just beginning it. So we haven't gotten too far. So if you haven't heard any of it this first time, go back, start at the beginning, amen. So, so not going to waste any time, we're going to jump right in. We're going to be picking up at verse 19.
Speaker 1:But first, y'all know what we got to do we must, must, pray. Father. We thank you so much for your grace and mercy. Thank you, god, for allowing us to stay. Another opportunity, god, to get into your word. I pray in the name of Jesus. You will use me to your glory. Have your way, father, that I might be a help to your people. I pray that everyone that is here, every diamond, every heart, god is here to seek out your face. God, I pray that you would just have your way. We love you so much, so very grateful, so thankful. In Jesus Christ's name, we do pray. Amen, amen and amen, hallelujah. All right, y'all. So we are picking up at verse 19.
Speaker 1:Amen, at verse 19, amen, where we left off on yesterday. We left off with the word telling us that you know that he gave Adam all that he needed, everything that he needed, and then some. He had given him plan, purpose, provision, all of that. And the last thing where we left off is you know, it's not a good thing that man be alone. Yeah, I'm going to make him help me, hallelujah. That's where we left off, amen. And so you know again, it's not good that man be alone. Man needs community. God has created us and designed us to connect. Amen, to connect with someone. Amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Look Of the ground. The Lord, god, formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof Amen. He says. Adam gave names to all cattle and to the fowl and of the air and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was none not found, and help me for him. So when we look at this, we see Adam. See, the animals are now given a name, amen, but there was none that matched him. Amen, hallelujah, adam. See, the animals are now given a name, amen, but there was none that matched him. Amen, hallelujah. So ain't nothing wrong with having a pet, you heard me, ain't nothing wrong with having a pet, but when they come more than that, when they come more than that, it is definitely not natural. How about somebody hallelujah, amen.
Speaker 1:So we see in verse 20, says it was not for adam, he was still alone, he had animals, he had all of these, this and the other, but he needed an individual amen, he needed somebody that he could connect, relationship, wise, amen. So he says. And the lord god calls a deep sleep in verse 21, the fall wait a minute, let me start over and lord calls a deep sleep to fall upon adam. And he slept and he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. Amen, he says. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman and brought her unto the man. Now, he could have took the dust, as he did with Adam, and made the woman for him, but it's just like God to make it personal. Come on somebody, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:He made it personal when he took out the rib of Adam to make his wife. Amen, he wanted it to be personal. He wanted the one to become two. Amen, he wanted it to be personal. He wanted the one to become two. Amen On the two to become one. Hallelujah. She was made out of him. Amen, a part of him was taken in.
Speaker 1:If you look through the medical books, you'll find out that that rib that's missing, it's the strongest rib of the man, amen, the strongest. So he took one of the strongest ribs and he created the woman out of him. Amen. So, uh, look, they say. They say that a woman is a man's backbone. Amen, the woman is a man's strength.
Speaker 1:The Bible says, in regard to the Proverbs woman that you know. Because of her, her husband is known at the gates. Amen, his name is known the woman. Woman, you are the strength of that man, hallelujah, you are there to help him. Hallelujah, amen, strength of that man, hallelujah, you are there to help him. Hallelujah, amen.
Speaker 1:He can't really accomplish everything that god desires and accomplish accomplished without you, amen, I say. I say he can't really. He can, but that's not his desire. He doesn't want us to be alone. It's interesting how um people, um, they kind of um box themselves in where they have this idea that there's nobody for them. Hallelujah, now, even if you don't have somebody that you're uh laying down in your bed with you, god still created people to be around you, hallelujah. And so, therefore, community ought to be an important factor in your life, amen. Don't get caught up, uh, just being by yourself all the time, amen. Nothing wrong with being by yourself, being by yourself all the time you excommunicated, type of thing. You ain't talking to nobody, whatever, nothing, even Moses, when we get to that story, even Moses was in the wilderness for a hot minute and he was out in the wilderness, but he still sent someone along his way, um, to help him. Amen, that he could be in community, in community with amen.
Speaker 1:Look, going a little further, he says um, verse 23, he says and Adam said this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man, hallelujah, woe is the womb, okay, man, woe man. Woman, woman, hallelujah, bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh, because she's now a part of him. Hallelujah, amen. He says, therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife, he says and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked. The man and his wife Were not ashamed, hallelujah. So they have met, they have connected, they are glad in what they see, excited, I'm sure, about what they see, and ready to go on. Hallelujah, amen.
Speaker 1:He said, the first marriage. It wasn't no big ceremony, hallelujah, amen. It wasn't no big ceremony, hallelujah, amen. It wasn't no big ceremony that we can see, amen. But he just says the two became one. Hallelujah. God's desire, his plan for us is that.
Speaker 1:But when we get, when we meet that one, that we leave our father and leave our mother, in regard to dependence, in regard to expectation, put it all on each other, hallelujah, put it all on your husband, put it all on your wife. Cleave, that means you, you hold on, you grab hold to them and you don't let them go. Hallelujah, amen. You become one with them. Hallelujah, amen.
Speaker 1:This is why couples have been married for 30, 40, 50 years. They begin to look like each other amen. For long. They look at each other after a certain amount of time, amen. You can't separate them. It's not even, not even not just their appearance, but even in that mindset they think alike, amen. One knows what the other's going to say even before they say it Amen. They know what they're thinking before they even think it. Hallelujah. They already know. That's because they become one one, one one with one another. Amen, hallelujah. That's so funny. Just a personal testimony.
Speaker 1:I saw one day I was being my At one time, my brother, myself, my husband and my sister-in-law. We all lived in the same house and I remember so vividly it was so funny. I was sitting at the kitchen table and my brother looked at his wife and she looked at him and like, literally, they were having a conversation with no word. No word to what's 11. They was having a conversation. It was the most unreal and he said her name and she said his name. They ain't say a word because I guess, because I was in the room but they was talking to each other just as clear, no, and neither one of them used one word outside of their names and they already knew exactly what they were talking about. It was the weirdest thing, but it was so funny. So funny when you're that connected with somebody, you don't even have to say a word and you didn't already had a conversation. Come on, somebody, hallelujah, that is an awesome thing. Amen to God, be the glory. Personal testimony. I just want to share that. Amen, hallelujah, amen.
Speaker 1:It's chapter three. I really don't want to go any further, just because, you know, I just want us to make sure that we got everything clear and not really go that far. We got about four minutes left, so I'm just going to stop right there in regard to the scripture, and I'm following the spirit here, y'all, I'm following the spirit here, y'all. I'm thinking, just trying to think what you know, it's a little different here on the podcast. Typically, when I was doing Facebook Live, I could see comments and I could see thoughts and I could kind of elaborate on the thoughts and made the show a little bit more personal, made the show A little bit more personal, but I hope that this is feeding you. I hope that this is helping you Wherever you're listening to Podcast.
Speaker 1:It would be awesome if you sent me a message To let me know how this is helping you. Yeah, um, if you would like to sow into this ministry, you can definitely do that as well. We always share that at the end of the show. But, um, for time sake, I'm just kind of. Katherine is here talking to whoever's listening. Um, let me know how this is helping you. Amen, because I don't want to go and do anything without purpose. Yeah and um, I feel like I just feel a prompting to go through this book of genesis and definitely go through revelation and then see where the spirit would have me to go. I figure, go from the beginning, then go to the end, because we've already talked about um a.
Speaker 1:A primary chapter four is salvation, which was first john, and we talk about the beginning in regard to creation. Then we're going to talk about the end in regard to revelation. So I'm asking God, asking you, if you want more and how we can make this thing even better. Amen for you. Your feedback is needed, wanted and definitely desired. So please let me know how this is helping you.
Speaker 1:Amen, how this is blessing you and so, that said, also, if you have particular prayer requests, you can put that in there as well. Amen, I would love to pray for you, amen. Any questions you might have for me, please take the time and, um, put it in. However you're listening to it, just let me know what it is. Uh, seems that my numbers have dropped in regard to listenings, um, for whatever reason it could be, just because it's not being marketed Correctly by me. But you know God don't do what he do, amen. So, if you can I don't know how you listen to it, but if you can, let somebody else know that this is what's going on, amen.
Speaker 1:In regard to the scriptures Amen, there's so much out there, so many people out there Trying to give truth, not saying it's right or wrong, but it's a lot out there to hear. So I truly believe that whoever's here, and consistently here, faithfully, it's because god drew them here and they're here to seek their face, seek his face. So I appreciate your presence as all of my diamonds. I appreciate you and I'm so glad that you allowed me to pour in what God gives me from the scriptures. So, without that, without further ado, let's go ahead and pray, father.
Speaker 1:Thank you so much again for this day. Thank you, god, for this word. Thank you, god, for everyone that is here. I just pray, god, in the name of Jesus, that anyone and everyone with a burden, anything that's weighing them down, pressing them down, they will yield it up to you, that their burden, that their walk, might be light. I pray in the name of Jesus, lord, as we go forth in this day and in this night and whenever they listen to it, that it will be all that you desire it to be. Pray that you are definitely the Lord of creation, god of revelation. You will do a work in us that only you can do. Allow us to see what you need us to see and open our ears to hear what we need to hear. I pray that we will be effective and impactful. I pray that we can be a blessing to those we encounter. Father, we thank you so much for this podcast. Thank you so much for all that you're drawing me to do on this platform and in this world. That leaves a footprint that I was here. I thank you, god.
Speaker 1:Continue to pray for that one that said pray for me, father. We love you so much, so very grateful, so thankful for all that you've done doing and what you're about to do. We bless your name as we bless your people. In Jesus Christ's name we do pray Amen, amen, hallelujah. So I hope y'all will come back with me on tomorrow as we continue a little bit further, jumping into chapter three of Genesis. I am so glad that you are here, so glad I can be a light for you and be a help. I pray that today, this evening tonight, is a blessing one for you. Make sure you come on back one more time for learning to live in truth, right here on God's Diamonds in the Rough. So much love, so many blessings from me to you. Y'all have a great day in the rough.
