Hello, hello, and welcome back to Learning to Live in Truth. I am so glad to be before you, amen. I hope today has been a good day for you. I hope you had a good weekend. I hope that all is well. Amen With you and yours. To God be the glory. This is another day that God has given us. He did not promise it, amen, but it has been given to us. So glad to be here once again.
Speaker 1:If you don't know who I am, my name is Catherine amen, and I am here with Learning to Live in Truth on God's Diamonds in the Rough. Amen. Hope you had a chance to listen to Learning to Live in Truth and last week's Diamonds episode, amen. I hope you had a chance to listen to it. If you didn't make sure that you do, amen, check it out, because God is surely a good God. Amen. He is teaching us and using me to his glory, allowing me to be able to be a light to you. So if you're ready I am ready Let us go ahead and pray. Teaching us and using me to his glory, allowing me to be able to be a light to you. So if you're ready, I am ready, let us go ahead and pray, father, we thank you so much for your grace and your mercy. Thank you, god, for every heart that is here, every diamond. I pray in the name of Jesus that we will grab a hold of your word and allow your word to be or to free us. I pray in the name of Jesus. You will use me to your glory, god, as your vessel, lord, to be able to be a light for the kingdom and a help to your people. I pray in the name of Jesus, that your people are able to glean from this word, and not just your people, but me as well. Pray that we can all get what it is you have to give. Father, we love you so much and we thank you again. In Jesus Christ's name, I do pray. Amen, amen and amen, hallelujah, amen. I hope all is well. I hope that again you're having a good day.
Speaker 1:We left off in Genesis chapter 2, genesis chapter 2, talking about creation and how that God had not allowed the things that he had envisioned to manifest Until he had a man to till the ground, amen, a man to take care of it. Amen. And always, every time I read this particular portion of Genesis, I come to the analysis and realization that you know everything that we are given, we have been assigned to, to take care of for a while. Amen, to love you the glory. So I hope you got your Bibles ready to go forth with me. I read the King James version. You read whatever version speaks to you loudest and clearest. Amen. Those of you that are driving, please keep your ears and your antennas open. Amen, while you're paying attention to the road as well. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:All right, let's get into it. So verse eight, he says and the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed, and out of the ground, made the Lord God to grow. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Let me go back. Let me read that again. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow Every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, and the tree of life, also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from thence it was perfect and became into four heads. Okay, pause here for a second before we talk about the four heads, I want y'all to see what I see.
Speaker 1:Okay, um, verse eight thing that highlights, is highlighted to me is that I made this garden and he said he put the man there. He put him there because this is what he would have him to do. Okay, hallelujah. Our purpose, a part of our purpose, everybody's purpose, is to do something. Okay, to take care of something. You're not here to take, take, take, take, take, okay, hallelujah. We're here to give, take, take, take, take. Okay, hallelujah. We're here to give something, hallelujah, whether it's our time, our presence, our gifts, our word, whatever it is, we have an assignment while here on the earth. Amen. The telltale is this. Verse eight. Now you look at nine. He says okay.
Speaker 1:He says he gave him provision. Okay, not only did he put him in the garden, but he also gave trees. That would be, he would be drawn to, that Adam would be drawn to, so that he can eat the provision. This is provision. He says he also left the tree of life. Amen, so he had a choice of whether or not he would serve god or serve himself. Hallelujah, amen. And then, uh, the word identifies with us that this tree of life is the root to the knowledge of good and evil. Amen. Good and evil, that's really something that we get to choose, don't we? We get to choose whether we do good, or whether we do right, I mean do wrong, or do evil, or do whatever. However you want to say it, we get to choose. Yeah, this is when. Well, we haven't got to it quite yet, but this was determining the factor, the determining factor of whether or not Adam would stand or fall. Amen, hallelujah. But Adam had everything that he needed.
Speaker 1:Now, when you look at Ephesians, and the river went out of Eden to water the garden, the garden that he planted. Remember verse 8, he said that God planted a garden eastward in Eden. Okay, so the Lord had to supply the water so the food would continually grow. Okay, he says. And he says and from this it was parted. I think I said perfect y'all, and from this it was parted. I think I said perfect y'all. No, I meant to say parted. He says and became into four heads. Four is a number of foundation.
Speaker 1:Okay, god is big on direction. If you notice, throughout the word, he talks a lot about direction, lot about direction. So when I grab a hold to this particular verse, you know direction is very much a purpose driven. God definitely has us all going somewhere. Hallelujah, amen, yeah, we are obviously. Uh, he desires us to go to heaven and, unfortunately, some are going to hell. But while you're on the earth, you have some places that you got to go. Amen, you got some directions. The lord will have you to go. He wants to take you in different directions to accomplish his will.
Speaker 1:Look at verse 11. He says the name of the first is, uh, pious. He says that is it which encompasses the whole land of Havilah, havilah. He says there, where there is gold, and the gold to the land is good. He says there is Bedelium and the Onyx Stone.
Speaker 1:And the name of the second river is Gihon, the sun is, or the same is it that encompasses the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hidakal, and that is, he says that is it which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Erophos. He says so we have all of the directions, okay, and each direction here's another thing. Each direction has treasures, treasures, amen. Rare finds On this journey. This is what happens to us. Whatever direction we go, or whatever direction the Lord leads us to on that path, you find treasures, amen. You find things that you ain't going to find every day. You heard me Hallelujah, this is powerful. Amen, you find things that you ain't going to find every day. You heard me, hallelujah, this is powerful. Amen.
Speaker 1:He says verse 15. He says and the Lord took, and the Lord, god, took the man, put him in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it Okay, to govern, protect and steward. Okay, hallelujah, this is what I got from 15. Okay, he says. Look at it. He says and the Lord took the man and put him. So this is a further extension of verse 8. He says he put him into the garden of Eden. So he put him, he placed him in his purpose. He says his purpose is to dress it Okay, to make it what it needs to be, what it ought to be. So Often time, what we gotta know is, in our everyday life, god will allow us to wind up in a place, not by coincidence and not by accident, definitely on purpose.
Speaker 1:And a lot of nothing. Okay, it's plenty of. It's a lot of opportunities. It is a. It's typically times where you can, you know, express different ideas and different things that you would like to see done. And here is Adam's opportunity and there is yours. You might be in a place, in a seasonal place, you know, it just seems like God is just kind of giving you there and then you don't know what to do. Well, here it is. This is what you have to do. You have to address it. You have an opportunity, you have a creative mind. Use it, he said, and keep it it. Okay, he said take care of it, treat it like, like it's your own. Hallelujah, amen.
Speaker 1:But knowing, knowing that it is God's amen, that's a powerful thing, because so often time we get a hold to something and we say, oh, it's mine, mine, mine, it's mine, mine, mine. Nobody else can have it. But the reality is is that it is God's and he gave it to you for a season. Take care of it as best as you can. Hallelujah, amen. Look, he says.
Speaker 1:And the Lord, god commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden, thou mayest freely eat. Okay, so where he's placed you, where he's put you, he said, you are the governing authority. He said I'm going to give you everything that you need in order to survive where you are, hallelujah, not just merely exist, but to survive and be able to abundantly possess what is before you, jesus, come on, he says. But of the tree, of the knowledge, of good and evil, key word, he says. But he says everything here you can have. You can have anything that you want in this season and where you are right now.
Speaker 1:He says, but there is something that is off limits, hallelujah. There is something, one thing that you cannot do. Okay, because he says, if you do it, he says thou shall not eat of it, for in the day that thou eatest, thou shalt surely die. Okay, it says. This, right here is gonna be what will make or break. Well, actually, this will be what will break you from me. Okay, adam had already been given the heads up of what would happen if he ate from this tree. Okay, even before Eve came on the scene, amen, he had already been told that he would die if he ate off the tree. So it makes you wonder well, why did he eat off the tree If he already knew? Even before Eve even came, amen, he said you'll surely die. Now, I'm sure he might have been like, figuratively, like I'm going to die, like what? And you know, when you read this, if you're looking at it from a logical mind, from a logical mindset. You think he's going to die, what you know if those of you that are listening it's the first time you're hearing it he's going to die because he ate a piece of fruit. No, not literally, but it is a spiritual death.
Speaker 1:There are some apples that we bite off that separate us from God. Amen, hallelujah. I mean it could be an apple of deceit. An apple of deceit, an apple of money, an apple of um, of adultery, um, an apple of disobedience, an apple of whatever separate. I mean sin, the apple of sin, that's a good word for it. It separates us from him and what you got to realize Sin does, that's what sin does. It separates us from him. Nothing about God is sinful, nothing about heaven, nothing is full of sin, nothing, amen. And the moment you bite off the apple of sin, then that's it. You're separated from him. And as you go on, you will gonna learn. You're gonna learn that Jesus is the only way that you can get back and write fellowship with him. Hallelujah, amen. Now going on, look at verse 18.
Speaker 1:He says and the Lord God said it is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him and help meet for him. Okay, so he's giving him everything that he needed, giving him the opportunity to take advantage of different opportunities to dress the garden, to keep the garden. He's giving him everything that he needs. He knows the do's and the don'ts, but then he says but he's here by himself, I don't want him here by himself. Let me go make him somebody so that he's not here alone.
Speaker 1:Amen, he does not desire for us to be alone, amen, amen. He does not desire for us to be alone, amen, even if you're not, you don't have a partner, somebody, a wife or a spouse or whatever have you? Um, even if you don't have someone like that, you still got community. Amen, he still wants you to be connected with people because he says I will make him a help and the people are there to help you. Amen, they not. They should not be taking advantage of you. They should not be doing things like that. They should be there to help you and you ought to be there to help them, amen.
Speaker 1:So, because of time, I'm going to stop right there. This is a good place to stop before we get into 19 and finish out the chapter. But, all in all, god has given us a good eye on his heart for direction, his heart for purpose, his heart for provision, his heart for us to be able to find treasures. Amen. Rare finds things that we won't find ordinarily on our path, amen. And for us to know that we get to choose whether or not we do good or evil, amen. So that's a wrap for today.
Speaker 1:Let's go ahead and pray. Father, we thank you again for this day and thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you, god, for allowing us this time in your word. I pray in the name of jesus to just lead us, us and order our steps as we go forth. Father, we love you so much, so very grateful, so thankful for all that you're doing in and through us.
Speaker 1:God, I pray that, wherever we are, whatever we are doing, that it pleases you in your sight. Pray for the one that said pray for me. I pray in the name of Jesus for my brothers and my sisters all around the world, even those that are near and dear to me. I pray for them, god, that whatever they're going through, they would lean and depend on you. Trust in you with all of their heart, as I do. Trust in you with all of my heart, knowing that you will, because I acknowledge you, you will lead and guide and fortify me. I pray the same for all of my brothers and sisters around the world, near and deep.
Speaker 1:Father, we just bless your name, we bless your people. We pray. We just give you glory and we give you all the honor In Jesus' name. I do pray, amen, amen and amen, hallelujah Amen. What a glory. And we give you all the honor in jesus christ's name. I do pray, amen, amen and amen, hallelujah amen. What a powerful word on today, right, amen. I am always so glad that you would take them, take 15, 20 minutes out to hear the word of god um each and every day. Make sure you come on back.
