What if our reverence for the wonders of nature is misplaced? Today, on Learning to Live in Truth, we take a closer look at Genesis 1:20-31 and unpack the profound purpose behind the creation of birds, marine life, and land animals. We emphasize the significance of recognizing God as the ultimate Creator and discuss the potential pitfalls of elevating creation above Him. Through this exploration, we aim to deepen our appreciation for God's intentional design and caution against allowing anything, even His creations, to divert our devotion away from Him.

As we journey through this enlightening discussion, we also take a moment to reflect on the spiritual implications of consuming meat in preparation for future episodes. This episode is not just about biblical history but also about cultivating a heart of gratitude and seeking blessings for those in need. We close with a heartfelt prayer, reaffirming our faith and trust in God's grace. Join us as we continue to walk through the book of Genesis, embracing the wisdom and insights it holds for our lives today. Amen.

Speaker 1:

Hello, hello, and welcome back to Learning to Live in Truth. So glad to be before you. If you don't know who I am, my name is Catherine amen, and I hope all is well, amen, all is well with you. You are this, amen. So we are, as we always do when we're here, journeying through the word of God. We just started genesis, yeah, and today we're going to be picking up at verse 20. We're talking about creation, talking about the days of creation, this, uh, uh, this first week, I guess you could say, uh, first couple of weeks, yeah, um. So I hope you got your bibles. I hope, uh, if you're driving, I hope you could say, uh, first couple of weeks, yeah, um. So hope you got your bibles, I hope, uh, if you're driving, I hope you're ready, um, I hope all is well again, and so we're gonna save a whole lot of time. We're gonna go on and get into it, yeah, yeah, let's pray.

Speaker 1:

Father, we thank you so much for your grace and your mercy. Thank you, god, for allowing us to stay another opportunity, god, to do some things that are pleasing in your sight. I pray that everyone that is listening every time in god receives today what it is you desire to give them. Pray that we can all, uh, do the things that are acceptable in your sight. I got that we would generously grant forgiveness. Pray, god, that we would bestow grace on our brothers and sisters in Christ and even those who are unsaved. I pray that we can give what we like to receive. I pray, in the name of Jesus, that we will be all you desire us to be. I pray that you will continue to shape in us and fashion us to the men and women of God you desire us to be. We love you so much and I am so very grateful that you called me to this place and to this platform. I pray that I can be a light to the kingdom and a help to your people. I pray, god, that you will use me to your glory. I thank you again and I bless your name as we bless your people. In Jesus Christ's name, we do pray. Amen, amen and amen, hallelujah. So I am ready to get into it. Amen, I hope that you are.

Speaker 1:

We left off at day four, and so here we pick up at verse 20 for day five, and I hope that you, if this is your first time tuning in I always say this if this is the first time tuning in, you kind of smack in the middle, please go back to the beginning. Yeah, amen, I mean I'm humbled that you would start here. But for your you kind of smack in the middle. Please go back to the beginning. Yeah, amen, I mean I'm humbled that you would start here. But for your own spiritual growth, go back to the beginning. Yeah, start at the beginning so that you get the fullness of what it is that God is trying to give you. Amen, yeah, this is theology, but it's more about your relationship with Him. Amen. So I'm sorry y'all about that. Pause there for a second, but we're going to go ahead and get it started.

Speaker 1:

It says the fifth day, which is verse 20, he said God said let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that have life and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. So here we see birds in the open firmament of heaven. So here we see birds in the air. I mean pretty straightforward, yeah, pretty pretty straightforward. Nothing dramatic, yeah. So y'all got to call. To be honest with you, you got to call.

Speaker 1:

It says 21. And God created great whales and every living creature that moved, with which the waters brought forth abundantly After their kind, every winged fowl After his kind. God saw that it was good and God blessed them and fruitful and multiplied and filled the waters and the seas and let the fowl multiply and the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. So we got the birds and we got everything in the water. But did you notice 21? He says? And every living creature that moved, which the waters brought forth abundantly. So God created the animals too. Yeah, god brought these animals forth. After their time they would multiply. Yeah, so God created everything. I'm gonna tell you what it trips me out how folk try to absentee God and God isn't everything. Come on, somebody created worshiping the creation, not the creator, jesus, y'all okay? So he saw that that was good. Right, that was day five.

Speaker 1:

Now, verse 24, to let the earth bring forth a living creature after his kind, cattle and creeping thing, cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth After his kind. And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth After his kind and cattle after their kind and everything that creepeth upon the earth After his kind. And God saw that it was good. So what we got to see and understand is that God made everything and everything on purpose, for purpose. He didn't put those animals in the sea for nothing. He didn't put the birds in the sky for nothing. He didn't put, you know, walking animals on the earth for nothing. Everything has a purpose.

Speaker 1:

And when you begin to worship the creation and not the creator, or Worship the creation so much that you counsel out the creator, there is something wrong with that. There is something wrong with that. I mean, satan disguised himself as a snake, as a serpent, but he created it. You hear me, he created the snake. The very thing that God created is the thing that Satan used to manipulate mankind. Amen, at the end of the day, you have to know who Jesus is. You got to know who created it all, so you give proper reverence to the proper person. You hear me? Come on, somebody, I'm going on forward. He says verse 26,.

Speaker 1:

God said let us make man in our image. Let us make man in our image. Did you hear that? God said let us make man in our image and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image. I'm going to say that again. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, created in him male and female, created he them. God blessed them and said unto them Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. So let's take it back for a minute.

Speaker 1:

In verse 26, god gives us a, a. I would call this an identity verse. An identity verse because he says let us make man in our image. This is why it's so easy that people can put confidence in themselves. They can get arrogant, prideful, puffed up and all of those things, because God made us like him. Yeah, god made us like him, he said.

Speaker 1:

But the caveat of it is that he said in our image. He didn't make us him in a sense, but he made us the reflection of him. So when you look in the mirror, when you look in a mirror, you see a image of yourself, which means you see a reflection of yourself. The image in the mirror Ain't necessarily you, but it's you Because it it shows you yourself, it shows you what's in the mirror. So if God was standing there and it went, look, he said, I'm going to make Catherine in the image of me. So when people see me, they ought to see God. Come on, come on, come on, come on. Think about that now. They ought to see God because he made us a reflection of him.

Speaker 1:

He said after our likeness, our who is our? We're just talking about God, right? So who is our? Our is everything, everyone in heaven. Everyone in heaven, ours will be. Who Jesus and come on. The Holy Spirit, hallelujah. And the Bible talks about what else? Angels, yeah, hallelujah, amen. Angelic beings, yeah. He said let us make man in our image and after our likeness, hallelujah. So there is absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, the Prince of Peace inside of every last one of us. Come on now, hallelujah. We don't have to be angry, we don't have to be hostile, we don't have to be, we don't have to chase after or be like the evil that is always present around us. Hallelujah, from the soul of the heart of the thing we have been made, as he tells us, in the image of him. Hallelujah, and after his likeness, amen. We might get steered or driven the wrong way, but we know the way because he imparted himself to create us.

Speaker 1:

He didn't say that anybody was inferior to another, because he said I created he, him, male and female. So when we talk about him, it ain't necessarily all about the male dominance, come on, because he says I created he, him, him in the sight of God. He said that is male and female. You know you had this age old argument about female pastors and female this and females not supposed to do this, females not supposed to do that. But look, he identifies him as male and female. Hallelujah, amen, male and female. Hallelujah, amen, male and female.

Speaker 1:

So to the ladies, my lady diamonds don't feel inferior to men. It's not to say that they don't have headship Doesn't mean that you don't have leadership. Come on somebody, hallelujah. That you don't have leadership, come on somebody. Hallelujah. Doesn't mean that because he has, uh, uh, leadership, a headship, doesn't mean you don't have that starship either. Amen.

Speaker 1:

That's a sensitive thing for me, obviously, because I'm a female and I've heard that argument before. You're not supposed to have a rule over a man, jesus, come on, you get married, hallelujah. And there is a thing called submission. Yeah, and when you submit, look, at some point the woman has a rule over the man and the man have a rule over the woman, but the man is the one who's held accountable for the decisions that are made in the marriage. Jesus, hallelujah, why? Because God made him head. The Bible is very clear. I believe that people have a lot of misconceptions and weaknesses and inferiorities, that they use the Bible to try to manipulate the one they are speaking to and against.

Speaker 1:

Come on, that was a nugget for somebody. I don't even know where that came from, but that was a nugget. Hallelujah Again, whoever it was for. I pray that you'll receive it, as God intends for you too. Of fruit, he says put the fruit together and he says multiply, hallelujah, amen. He says and what you are, what the fruit you have and the fruit that you are producing and making more of. He says replenish the earth, don't keep it to yourself. Put it into the earth, amen, so that it can produce more. Write the vision and make it plain upon tables. Whomever reads it can run with it. Hallelujah, amen. Run with it, hallelujah, amen. What you started don't necessarily gotta end if you write it down and make it plain and put it up on tables. Write it down on the notebook, hallelujah. Put it in a computer.

Speaker 1:

Whatever the vision is, they don't have to die. Come on somebody, hallelujah. Look, he says. He says replenish the earth and subdue it. Look where you are, look, make it your mission to leave your footprint. Come on somebody, hallelujah. Amen.

Speaker 1:

Truth be told, we won't be here forever, but you can make an impact that you cannot be forgotten. Come on somebody, dr Martin Luther King. Come on somebody, abraham Lincoln. Come on George Washington. Come on somebody, abraham Lincoln. Come on George Washington. Come on somebody. Y'all, talk to me. These are people will never die. Their name will never leave this earth. Amen. Because they made an impact. They subdued the earth, what their purpose was and what their call was for. They completed it. Come on somebody, because their name will never be forgotten.

Speaker 1:

He says quickly, I'm just go ahead and finish reading this out, to finish the chapter out. He says, and god said behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth, in every tree and in the in thee which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed to you. It shall be for meat. This is for the vegans. We can absolutely live off of fruit, vegetables, nuts. We don't need meat, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

This number 29 gives us a witness to that. There is a but he says and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth wherein there is light, I have given every green herb for me, and it was so. And god saw everything that he had made and behold, it was good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day, hallelujah. So let me backtrack. He said, not only for us, but he made it so anything can survive off of the fruit, off of the seed. He said, anything can survive, not just us, but even the animals that swim, that walk, that fly. He can take care of them as well. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

We're going to read further about how we ended up eating meat as we go along, but we're going to stop right there, hallelujah. We're going to read further About how we ended up eating meat as we go along, but we're going to stop right there, amen. We're going to stop right there and pick up on tomorrow, with the seventh day Beginning at chapter two. Yeah, so let's go ahead and pray.

Speaker 1:

Father, we thank you so much for your grace and your mercy. Thank you, god, for allowing us this day, another opportunity. So much for your grace and your mercy. Thank you, god, for allowing us this day, another opportunity. God to um be in your word and I just thank you much for teaching us yet again a little bit more of your truth, making things clear and plain so that we cannot miss it.

Speaker 1:

Father, we bless your people, we bless anybody that said pray for me, anybody that might be going through, whatever crisis they might be facing. God, we just pray that, as you gave me you gave through a sister of mine gave me a word that whatever is facing and facing me will face you, and I just pray, god, that somebody will receive that. Hallelujah. We bless the one you gave it to and bless the word that came forth in the name of Jesus, that we would just put our faith and trust in you, no matter what comes. Put our faith and trust in you, father. We love you so much and we're so very grateful, so thankful. In Jesus Christ's name, I do pray. Amen, amen, hallelujah, amen. Y' that was a word, wasn't it? Hallelujah, that was a good word. To God be the glory, amen. So y'all, make sure y'all come on back tomorrow as we journey and begin chapter two of this great book, genesis. Amen, y'all have a blessed day, a blessed night, and we will see you on the next time. Amen.
